shannon may bridges harvard china africa - uniting innovations of happiest low cost schools

i dont know if one of you could contact shannon may- she is one of the few americans who floats from a harvard education to being in a china village school where teacher responsible for whole mixed age class; ;she then jumped to inventing bridge international schools in africa - these charge something like 8 dollars a month but aim to be livelihood best at that level; at bridges 90% of teachers are not responsible for any new content; instead they coach students on what actions to take out of lessons whose distribution, updating and curricula is electronically mediated- bridges international got big in kenya but then got hated by teachers unions before it could scale in neighboring african countries as quite frankly teachers really had to learn to keep up, and in turn the relationship between gov and teachers needed to love children/community- it may not be perfect but shannon may is one of the few americans who bridges china and everywhere- in 2016 i attended a morning masterclass of hers in beijing where she is a superhero - basically though 1970s to 1990s women empowered village china was all sort of montessori but with a twist k-5-12 health literacy was built in as were any agricultural designs favoring village supply chains; i dont know why but it seems to me india village montessori never connected health and didnt always finance community level food security- of course sunita's family knows far more than me on what happened to montessori where from 1950 - montessori in usa is sadly fashionable but seldom designed for poorest communities to bridge with the rest of us edu system- there was something about bridges that was very nearly right for africa but which i think is just on example of deep educational losses during trumps inhumane consequences today one of the chinese miracles is hujiang - it links in 1000 small village schools - about 1000 teachers and 19000 students to classes moderated ut of beijing- its mainly used to upgrade teachers knowhow; in typical chinese way the system is monitoring teaches facial expressions to see which are happily learning and which have got lost-issues of how to upgrade teachers where sdg knowhow is changing fast probably merits a zoom of its own
